Bronco News 4-6-2022

.Hello from the Executive Director.

In the spring, I have counted 136 different

kinds of weather inside of 24 hours.

~Mark Twain

What a week! We’ve had freezing mornings, rainy indoor recess days, and tomorrow it is supposed to be 75 degrees! Lots of opportunities to practice flexibility! I am happy to see students enjoying some time in the garden this afternoon. The efforts they are putting in now, will surely bring many smiles in the coming months! Hopefully the weather will collaborate with us to bring just the right amount of sunshine and rain.

Middle school students are leading the way for our upcoming Arts and Starts sale in May. Every class is joining this year to create something for the event. It is very exciting to see the foundational inspiration of agriculture in the classroom blooming again at CCCS. This is part of the founders dream for the school. If you are or know any of the founding families, please invite them to come take a peek at the results of their initial work in creating a school where students learn about and take pride in growing up in an agricultural community.

Lots of wonderful events are being planned where we will have the opportunity to enjoy each other’s company. PCS is working diligently on our annual spring get together and fundraiser. This year it will be in a beautiful new venue. Our Jog-a-thon, Bookfair, and Field Day committees are planning tons of fun for our students in May and June. Please let us know if you are interested in joining the fun, getting involved, and creating new connections with CCCS families. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate. Many hands definitely make light work!!

Have a wonderful evening!

Warm regards,

Lisa Jager

Hello from PCS (People for Coburg School), the school's parent group. Three things to know or help with this week….

  1. Ems Game 6/12: Only a few remaining tickets! PCS reserved a block of tickets at the Emeralds baseball game on Sunday, June 12th @ 4:05 pm. Tickets are for entry, reserved seats + all you can eat buffet and two drinks in a section just for Coburg families! Green ticket order forms can be downloaded here and returned to the black PCS mailbox in front of the school (checks made out to “PCS”). It’s going to be a fun way to end the school year, so we hope you can join.

  2. Bronco Bash on 5/14: Invitations are in the mail! On Saturday night, May 14th we are bringing back our annual auction at Shadow Hills Country Club. The RSVP deadline will be a quick turnaround - April 22nd - so please start checking your calendar and talking with other families if you want to organize a table of 8. We are also still looking for sponsors and donations. If you have a business that you’re a regular client of and would be willing to approach, please email SylviaKidderBarry@gmail.com to ensure we haven’t already contacted them. And, if you’re able to sponsor or donate a good/service (e.g., anything from vacation homes to tickets, baskets to gift cards), the donation & sponsorship forms are online: www.coburgcharter.com/fundraising.

  3. Jogathon & Book Fair on 6/3: Save the date. Since we haven’t been able to have an in-person jogathon or book fair the past few years, we’re pairing these fun events together on Friday, June 3rd. Your kiddos get a fun morning of exercise + can pick up some summer reading. We’re aiming for this to be a family-fun day, so stay tuned for more details and please save the time on your calendar if you’re able to volunteer.

Other questions or comments? E-mail PCS@coburgcharter.org. Thank you!
